School Lunch Program

For the 23-24 school year, every San Diego Unified student will be provided with nutritious breakfast and lunch at no cost.

All students will have access to the free meals at their school, with no application or eligibility requirements to worry about. Salad bars featuring fresh local produce are back this year, as well as many of the more popular entrees such as teriyaki chicken, beef tacos, vegetarian chili, and Caesar salad.

School meals are carefully planned to provide well-balanced nutrition for students. The district serves healthy proteins, including daily vegetarian and/or plant-based options; all grains are at least 50% whole-grain; sodium and sugar are limited; milk varieties include 1% or fat free; and fresh fruits and vegetables are included with every meal.
